Lift House is a landmark at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon. The family-owned business has been in that location since 1978 and it has built its reputation on quality ski equipment and superior customer service.

It's iconic founder, Dave Larsen, just retired, and sons Luke and Zac threw a retirement party for him. It was a gala gathering of skiers and family's friends.

In the 1960s, Dave Larsen was a ski instructor at Brighton Resort and he also began several ski shops around the area. In 1978 he consolidated the ski shops into its current location at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon where it became the popular, locally owned, family-owned business.

Dave is retiring, but sons Luke and Zac are expanding the business. There will be new product lines and they expect to be open throughout the non-ski months of summer.

In additon. Lift House will remain in virtually the same location with just a move into larger facilities across the parking lot into the former Canyon Inn building.
