‘The Little Mermaid Jr.’ auditions planned
Auditions for the Sandy Arts Guild production of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” will be held Thursday, Jan. 24 and Friday, Jan. 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Sandy Parks and Recreation, 440 East 8680 South. Reserved audition times are recommended, but not required. For a reserved audition time and character descriptions, go to www.sandyarts.com and click on the Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” window.
Callbacks are at the same location on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Needed are boys and girls, ages 5-18. All parts are open. Be prepared to sing 16-32 bars of an up-tempo musical theater piece. An accompanist will be available. Please bring music: no minus tracks or recorded music. Also, be prepared to learn a short dance combination. The directors have requested that all auditioners bring a list of scheduling conflicts from Jan. 26 to April 13. A current photo and resume is requested.
There is a $20 fee for those cast in the show. If more than one member of a family is cast, the fee for additional family members is $10 each. There is a mandatory daytime performance on either Thursday, April 11 or Friday, April 12, which will necessitate missing school for half the day, probably in the morning. The performance on Saturday, April 13 will be a matinee. Parents of youth cast in the show are required to serve on a committee AND help with supervision at rehearsals and performances.
