VETERANS PARADE SLATED FOR NOVEMBER 13 IN LAYTON CITY Contact Dennis Howland – Vietnam Veterans of America – 801-389-1893 – [email protected] Utah’s Vietnam Veterans of America will once again host the Northern Utah Veterans Parade in Layton City, Utah, November 13, 2021. Parade is set to begin at 11:11 a.m. from Talbot and Gentile Streets in Layton. The parade is in its 16th year.  In announcing the parade plans Vietnam Veterans of America State President Dennis Howland said, “we routinely hold the parade on the Saturday closest to Veterans Day so that people who work during the week are able to come out and enjoy the day. We anticipate several thousand people will line the streets to honor all veterans of peacetime and war,” he added. “We encourage the message of “Thank You For Your Service and Welcome Home for all our men and women who have served and those who serve today to ensure our freedoms and democracy.” This year’s program will feature honoring the service members who served in our Middle East Conflicts including Afghanistan as Parade Grand Marshals. “That includes the active-duty men and women in the Armed Forces today and those who are no longer on active duty”, Howland reports. Parade requirements are simple. Fill out an entry form available by calling Howland at 801-389-1893, or email at [email protected]. Parade entries may be military units, veterans’ organizations, families of veterans, walking, riding in vehicles or floats, horseback. Anyone who wishes to enter, as long as they fill out an entry form. You do not have to be a veteran to participate in the parade. The entry must honor all veterans, be patriotic and give honor to all who serve this great nation. No political entries or statements will be permitted. Following the parade, which ends in Layton Commons Park at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall Replica, will be an Honors Ceremony hosted by Layton City to honor all veterans and those from Layton who were lost in Wars. Estimated time of the ceremony is 12:30 p.m. In addition, two new monuments will be dedicated near the Wall as part of the ceremony. “We appreciate Layton City in partnership to present this day of honor for America’s heroes,” said Howland.
