Calling all pedal-powered riders! It’s time to dust off your bicycle, put your winter clothes in storage and get ready for the 11th Annual SLUG Cat Presented By Fat Tire. Hosted in conjunction with SLUG Magazine’s Bike Issue, the alley cat–style bike race sends riders all over downtown SLC to win points, solve clues and play games as they race toward the finish line in hopes of winning the grand prize. The race takes place Saturday, May 27, with registration starting 4 p.m. at Saturday Cycles and a 5 p.m. race kickoff.

For the past 11 years, SLUG Mag has hosted the SLUG Cat bike race to celebrate SLC’s vibrant bike community. Inspired by the scavenger hunt–style bicycle races made popular by bike messengers in places like San Francisco and New York, SLUG Cat has become an unparalleled event in the Salt Lake community and is a must for all local riders, whether you’ve been cycling for years or are still on training wheels.
