Election results: who will be on Draper's next city council?

Nov 05, 2019 11:46PM ● By Justin Adams
Unofficial election results posted by the Salt Lake County Recorder's Office suggest that Draper city's three open at-large city council seats will be won by Marsha Vawdrey, Fred Lowry and Cal Roberts.

Incumbent Councilwoman Vawdrey leads all candidates in the six-person field with 3,019 votes (22.2%). She is followed by Lowry and Roberts who have 2,746 and 2,551 votes, respectively.

The next-closest candidate is Tab Bingham with 1,988 votes. While the results are unofficial and could change in the coming days, there likely won't be enough votes for any candidate to overtake the current top three.

Lowry, a 22-year resident of Draper, is a former member of the Draper City Planning Commission as well as a former Chairman of the Draper Community Development Corporation.

Roberts is a young local business owner with previous experience on Wall Street. On his campaign website he pledges to "protect open space and oppose 'out of control' high-density housing."
