Corner Canyon boys volleyball takes bronze

The Corner Canyon High boys volleyball team tied for third place at the state boys tournament May 15 at Wasatch High School, losing to Springville in the semifinals. The Chargers defeated Syracuse and Lone Peak to reach the final four. On the CCHS team this year were Joao Vitor gois Agostinho, Gavin Armstrong, Rylan Featherstone, Tristan Ma’e, Ammon Mohr, Keegan Rappleye, Caleb Sonntag, James Sonntag and Ethan Thaxton. Former Charger Tristan Penrod, who was the state Most Valuable Player in 2016 when he led Corner Canyon to the title, was the head coach this season. (Photo courtesy Dan Penrod)
