MountainStar Healthcare’s Lone Peak Hospital’s obstetric and emergency teams were recently recognized by the Women’s Choice Award as one of the top providers in the country.

The designations place the Draper-based hospital in the top 3% in obstetrics and the top 2% in emergency care of hospitals nationwide. The Women’s Choice Award is presented to organizations and brands trusted and recommended by women.

“We are truly honored to receive this national recognition, both for labor and delivery and, for the second consecutive year, in our emergency department,” said Brian Lines, CEO of Lone Peak Hospital. “These awards symbolize the best in terms of quality care for patients of all ages, baby included, and that’s something to be proud of.”

Opened in 2013, Lone Peak Hospital introduced valuable obstetric care to the South Valley area. Starting as a satellite emergency department in 2010, the MountainStar hospital has grown to offer comprehensive care through a variety of healthcare services on campus. As a recipient of the Women’s Choice Award, the hospital is known for going above-and-beyond to ensure exceptional clinical care.

“Not all hospitals can say they are the safest in the country, and by identifying those who are, the Women’s Choice Award is helping the female consumer identify the hospitals in her community that are dedicated to creating the safest patient experience,” said Delia Passi, founder and CEO of the Women’s Choice Award. “This recognition is critical for women as they make over 80% of healthcare decisions and need to know they are putting themselves, and their family members, in the safest hands.”

Lone Peak Hospital’s community of medical professionals is honored to be recognized on a national level for the care provided. In 2021, the hospital was listed on the Fortune/IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals for the third time, awarded for being one of the top-performing “Small Community Hospitals” in the United States.

“At Lone Peak Hospital, we take seriously our mission statement: We are committed to the care and improvement of human life,” Lines said. “We remain committed to keeping the community’s health our highest priority and these awards are evidence of that.”
