Canyons School District’s Jeremy Klung turned the 40-foot school bus, parallel parked, paused at mock railroad crossings, backed up, stopped at loading and unloading zones.

The state’s school bus skills “Road-e-o” was to practice bus drivers’ road skills and ensure students’ safely.  Points were awarded for precision or deducted if they were deficient.

Klung, who won the state event against 22 other drivers, will represent Utah behind the wheel at the International State Safety Skills “Road-e-o” Competition June 29-30 in Austin, Texas.

Second and third places went to Alpine School District drivers.
